Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller addressed the Aaron Rodgers Broncos rumors and does not appear to be joining the hype surrounding a potential move for the reigning NFL MVP, according to an interview done by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, on Saturday.
“If you get too emotionally involved in those guys, and then it doesn’t happen, now you got [Drew] Lock over here looking like . . . what about now?’” Miller said, supporting his current teammate.
“So you don’t want to get too emotionally attached to the rumors. . . . You start thinking, ‘Oh, we’re going to get Aaron Rodgers or Deshaun Watson. But hold on, wait a minute, we’ve got Drew Lock. That’s who we’re running with. That’s who we’re going into the season with until anything changes,” Miller continued.
Denver has made headlines the past couple of months in being a top potential landing spot for Green Bay’s quarterback. Rodgers skipped the Packers’ minicamp last week — being fined $93,000 for the action.
Even though the headline conveys truth, it can be misleading. Miller’s leadership style is supportive of his current teammates, including quarterback Drew Lock as he is taking the quarterback trade talks one day at a time.
