Well, it looks like the Titans are sticking to their position on the current quarterback situation. Last Sunday in Denver, the Titans lost 16-0 and Marcus Mariota had two interceptions without any touchdowns and was benched. Tannehill did not do much better than Mariota. At first he seemed like he was doing well and was going to help them put some points on the board, but then he threw an interception towards the end and the Broncos got the ball back.
After playing six years in Miami, quarterback Ryan Tannehill finished with a quarterback record of 42 wins and 46 losses. Now he is on the Tennessee Titans.
In my opinion this is an absolutely ridiculous decision on Tennessee’s part. First off, Mariota is an amazing quarterback that just had a bad game.
Two interceptions is not terrible for a quarterback on one of their bad days — to put things into perspective, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback James Winston threw 5 interceptions in his game on Sunday and wasn’t benched.
But the worst part is that now the Titans leadership has shown they have little-to-no confidence in their franchise quarterback. This is the epitome of bad coaching. Coaches should be loyal and trustworthy to their best players — if they want to keep them happy. Here they are showing Mariota no support by starting Tannehill in Week 7.
