Well, five seasons later, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to trade Kevin Love, according to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski. He said:

“I’m told that Cleveland is ready now to listen to offers on Kevin Love as we get to that December 15 date and then the February trade deadline.”

The Cavs have not been so lucky this season with a 5-16 record, however Love’s stats are elite. He is averaging 16.7 points and 10.7 rebounds a game. He’s played at this level for years and does not seem like he will be slowing down any time soon.

Kevin was at first picked up to help ease the load of carrying the team for the LeBron-James era in Cleveland. He signed a four-year contract for $120.4 million that goes through the 2022-2023 NBA season.

“I’m told that Cleveland is ready now to listen to offers on Kevin Love as we get to that December 15 date and then the February trade deadline,” Wojnarowski said.

According to Wojnarowski, there are many teams that might be interested in signing the veteran forward to help their team. If he is to engage in a trade with another team, Kevin Love and the Cavs will most likely wait until December 15 — the first day players who signed a free-agent contract over the summer can be placed on another team.

Part of this trade process might have been pushed by Love, because recently an article on The Athletic came out that showed Cavs players do not have much trust or confidence in their new head coach John Beilein.

“Guys drowned out his voice, and when guys start searching for the next in line for help, I believe you’ve lost them,” an anonymous Cavs player said.

Another problem that the Cavaliers face is that they have a very young roster that needs time to develop and help change their game to become championship ready. In contrast, Kevin Love is already championship ready. I expect that he will join a team that is willing to pay a lot of money and already has veteran talent that will take their team far in the playoffs.
