Never Overlook A 90+ MPH Pitcher On Social Media… (8/3/19)

Well, Cinderella stories really do happen in real life…

23 year-old Nathan Patterson lit up the radar gun at Coors field in a speed pitch cage during a Rockies game — little did he know that this throw could jump-start his career.

The video of him pitching at Coors went viral with many people noticing him including the Oakland Athletics…

Despite the fact that he got in a car accident in December and needed surgery, he still managed to come back as healthy as ever. While he was at the Rockies game, he threw at 96 miles per hour! Check out the video below:

Like Nathan, his brother was shocked at what happened next…
The Oakland Athletics signed him on a minor league contract!

Apparently the Athletics had been looking at him for a little while. The most crazy part about this story was that Patterson had stopped baseball “for a few years” and had not even played college ball (USA Today). Then recently, he began to pick it back up again and continue with the grind…

I’ll suspect that there was more to this story than what we have heard… perhaps this is the tip of the iceberg. He must have had to work insanely hard to get back into pitching shape.
