Tom Brady is undoubtedly one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, and is considered by most to be the greatest of all time. His six Super Bowl titles say it all. In terms of Lombardi trophies and the who is the greatest quarterback of all time debate the argument of some sports fans has been that since Joe Montana has four Super Bowl wins that he should be considered the G.O.A.T. over other quarterbacks like John Elway, Brett Favre, Terry Bradshaw, and Troy Aikman.
But as time does to many, Brady has been susceptible to many “old quarterback” problems such as losing in-game mobility, losing the arm strength to throw lasers downfield, and most-importantly losing.
The 2020 NFL season showed that the Patiriots, among all NFL teams, are in fact beatable and lose on occasion.
Starting out the season as the Super Bowl champs and then losing later on in the season to both the 5-11 Miami Dolphins and the massive-underdog Tennessee Titans at home in Gillete stadium must have been humiliating to the Pats.
Something has to change. And the defense is not the problem. Their D, in fact ended up first in the defensive rankings for the majority of the season. No, it’s the offense that needs change. And in terms of an offensive change, a 42 year-old quarterback is not very attractive for the future success of a franchise.
But this is Tom freaking Brady, surely the Patriots wouldn’t get rid of him, right? Right?
His latest post seems to hint at a possible split with New England.
In just analyzing his photo, one couldn’t help but notice the dark contrast of colors of Gillette Stadium and the dark silhouette of Tom Brady alone in the entrance hallway. Could he be saying goodbye?
This photo suggests yes.
